Predators Cling to Victory as Parker Black Sox Nearly Erases 7-Run Deficit

Predators 9U got out to a seven-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 15-14 victory over Parker Black Sox on Saturday.  Parker Black Sox managed eight runs in the failed comeback. #25, #0,  #8, #28, #7, and #23 fueled the rally with RBIs.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Predators 9U collected 11 hits and Parker Black Sox had six.

Parker Black Sox captured the lead in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Parker Black Sox.

After Predators 9U scored five runs in the top of the third, Parker Black Sox answered with five of their own.  Predators 9U scored when Lucas F drew a walk, scoring one run, Keaton D singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, and Luke U homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.  Parker Black Sox then answered when #25 drew a walk, scoring one run, Parker Black Sox scored one run on a stolen base, and #28 singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Predators 9U took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning.  In the second Keaton grounded out, scoring one run, Mason K drew a walk, scoring one run, Hans B singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Shane S singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Predators 9U smacked one home run on the day. Luke had a dinger in the third inning.

Predators 9U totaled 11 hits.  Griffin R, Mason, and Shane all managed multiple hits for Predators 9U.  Shane, Mason, and Griffin all had two hits to lead Predators 9U.  Predators 9U tore up the base paths, as eight players stole at least two bases. Mason led the way with seven.

Parker Black Sox racked up six hits.  #23 and #7 all had multiple hits for Parker Black Sox.  Parker Black Sox stole 27 bases during the game as eight players stole more than one. #8 led the way with five.
